1860s Lifestyle Exposition sponsored by the Friends of Gray/Campbell Farmstead Sept. 18-19, at Nathanael Greene/Close Memorial Park. The demonstrations, contests and family activities begin at
11 a.m. on Saturday until 4:30 p.m. and from noon until 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.
The two-day event highlights the mid-nineteenth century clapboard siding farmhouse moved to the park in 1984 from the intersection of James River and Kansas Expressways. Admission is free, but donations are accepted.

The 2nd Annual Heart of Compassion Ministries Women’s Conference “God’s Wish for You” is set for Sept. 17-18 in the Plaster Student Union theatre at Missouri State University.
Registration for the event is $15 per person, two students for $15 and groups of 15 or more are $10 each. Participants are encouraged to register early because seating is limited.

The History Museum for Springfield-Greene County will feature an exhibit until Nov. 13 of industry and agricultural activities that
made Springfield and Greene County the success they are today.
Titled “Made in Springfield: when industry and agriculture reigned,” the exhibit shows some of the earliest manufacturing and production facilities in the area including The Springfield Wagon Works, Meyer Milling Company, MFA Packing Company, Gottfried Furniture and many others along with some of the large farms and orchards which filled the county in its early years. There are also several examples of the products and tools used in the pictured businesses.
